When the Illusion of Freedom Dies

When the Illusion of Freedom Dies

People living in the Western world generally consider themselves to be free. Free to travel, express themselves, and live their lives as they want to within the law of the land. However, the freedom we experience is an artificial freedom based on the will and actions of those in power. It is an illusionary freedom. We can never be completely free. Only free birds can fly. The original photo was taken in Rhodes, in the abandoned villa of Cesare Maria de Vecchi, a Fascist politician who was appointed Governor of the then Italian ruled Dodecanese Islands.
